As you can see cutting the suckers and and branches that reach towards the ground trying to infiltrate our "air zone" which will help keep not only pests infestations down and good air flow in-between plants to help prevent powdery mildew or Blight due to the acidification of the air zone around the tomato plant as it develops its fruit from the amino acids it takes to produce the tomato. The acidic environment is a welcoming mat for Blight and powdery mildew so maintaining your garden is critical .
